Bitcoin Surges 9%: Real Demand Test Begins After $75,500
Bitcoin (BTC) has surged 8.9% in the last 24 hours, surpassing the $75,500 level; however, for the rally to be sustainable, real buyers must enter the market beyond forced liquidations.
According to The Block data, Bitcoin rose to a level not seen in over three months and is trading at $75,560. During the rally, according to Coinglass data, $783.2 million worth of positions were liquidated in the last 24 hours. Short positions accounted for $747.7 million of this amount. Thus, the rise moved beyond the recently observed $72,000 breakout.
MEXC Research Lead Analyst Shawn Young stated that the U.S. Treasury increasing liquidity support purchases for long-term bonds created excessive optimism in the market. Young said, “The crypto market is valuing the Treasury’s intervention much more than it deserves. In my opinion, Bitcoin’s rise above $70,000 is premature.”
Real demand test begins in the Bitcoin rally
According to Zeus Research Analyst Dominick John, the closing of short positions could push the price higher for a while; however, these transactions are also exhausting a significant source of forced buying for the rally. John said, “The real test is whether new capital can step in and turn the short squeeze into a sustainable movement.” According to the analyst, the next direction will be determined by real spot demand, liquidity, and macroeconomic fundamentals.
The Bitcoin Fear & Greed Index, which measures market sentiment, rose to 62, reaching its highest value since October 2025 and moving into the “Greed” zone. The collective assessment of analysts was that for the rally to be permanent after short liquidations end, it must be supported by new capital inflows.
