1,250x Gains in an Altcoin on Robinhood’s New Network: $838 Turns into Over $1 Million
A meme coin named CASHCAT, trading on Robinhood’s newly launched blockchain network, has drawn significant attention by turning an early investor’s $838 capital into over $1 million in a short period.
Finance giant Robinhood launched its own blockchain network on July 1 with the goal of bringing stocks and bonds on-chain. However, the network’s true breakout came from a cat-themed meme coin called CASHCAT rather than traditional financial assets. Inspired by the “CashCat” codename Robinhood used during its founding phase, this token reached a massive market capitalization in a short time.
On-chain data shows that a lucky investor spent $838 approximately three weeks ago to purchase 15.04 million tokens. This investor sold the majority of their holdings for around $917,600, while the value of the remaining portion sits at approximately $133,700. This represents a return of roughly 1,250 times the initial investment. Another wallet reached millions of dollars in paper profits with a purchase of just $85.
The Meme Coin Frenzy Rooted in Robinhood’s Past
CASHCAT was not actually launched by Robinhood; it was developed by the community as a reference to the company’s old logo and name. As indicated in visual data, Robinhood was known by the codename “CashCat” during its conceptual stage, and the founders even attended investor presentations with their cats. Although company CEO Vlad Tenev initially stated that assets without utility would not be permanent, he acknowledged following the network activity that meme coin projects are also a good tool for showcasing the network’s performance.
Although the project’s market capitalization climbed to the $105 million level, the liquidity in the Uniswap pool being around $6.6 million carries a significant risk. This indicates that if investors attempt to sell simultaneously, the price could collapse rapidly. While the speed of speculative transactions increased with the support of the Solana-based Pump.fun platform, the fact that sell volume is beginning to pressure buy volume stands out as a technical data point that investors should watch closely.
