The value of one Bitcoin in Turkish lira is driven by two things at once: BTC’s global dollar price and the USD/TRY exchange rate. The price above is an indicative TRY rate from CoinMarketCap, not a buy or sell quote from any particular exchange. Use the calculator to convert any BTC amount into lira, or a lira amount into BTC.
How is Bitcoin’s TRY price calculated?
The rough formula is: BTC/TRY ≈ BTC/USD × USD/TRY. So even if Bitcoin is flat in dollar terms, a 10% rise in USD/TRY lifts its lira price by about 10%. Conversely, if BTC falls in dollars while the lira weakens, the loss in TRY terms can look smaller than it is in dollars.
- What is my BTC worth in TRY? Multiply your BTC amount by the TRY price of one Bitcoin. For 0.05 BTC, multiply the price by 0.05.
- How much BTC can I buy? Divide your lira amount by the TRY price of one Bitcoin.
The calculator shows an indicative value before fees. If a platform takes its fee in BTC, you receive less BTC; if it charges in lira, your total cost goes up. For a step-by-step walkthrough, see our guide on how to buy Bitcoin.
Why does the price differ between exchanges?
Every exchange runs its own order book, and its BTC/TRY price is set by the orders of buyers and sellers on that platform. Order book depth, how quickly lira can be deposited and withdrawn, banking hours and the link to the platform’s BTC/USDT market all play a part. Small gaps between exchanges, and between an exchange and the indicative price, are therefore normal. Arbitrage traders step in when gaps widen, but transfer times and fees can slow the catch-up.
Spread, fees and slippage
The last price on screen is simply where the most recent trade happened. A market buy fills against the lowest ask and a market sell against the highest bid; the gap between them is the spread. Large orders fill across several price levels, pushing the average price away from the quote, which is known as slippage. Our guide to spread and slippage explains both.
Exchanges usually charge different fees to makers and takers. Using a limit order can reduce what you pay in spread; see market, limit and stop orders for how each works. Always check the net result in the exchange’s order preview and executed trade details.
Do you need to buy a whole Bitcoin?
No. One Bitcoin divides into 100 million satoshis, so you can buy small amounts such as 0.01 or 0.001 BTC. On small purchases, minimum order sizes and flat fees weigh more heavily on the result.
Are Bitcoin returns the same in TRY and USD?
Not always. A lira return includes the currency move on top of Bitcoin’s dollar performance. To separate the two, look at the same period on the Bitcoin price in USD page, and always compare start and end values in the same currency.
