Binance’s 44th Reserve Report: Those Fleeing ETH and USDT Flocked to the Leader

Binance’s 44th Proof of Reserves report revealed that users have increased their Bitcoin (BTC) holdings while exiting Ethereum and USDT, viewing the leading cryptocurrency as a “safe haven.”

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has shared its 44th Proof of Reserves report as part of its transparency commitment. According to snapshot data taken on July 1st, there is a sharp contrast in the distribution of user assets compared to the previous month. When compared with June 1st data, it is evident that investors have moved away from cash-like assets and altcoins, pivoting towards the market’s flagship.

According to the report, users’ Bitcoin holdings increased by 1.22% over the one-month period. With this rise, the amount in exchange wallets increased by 7,715 BTC, reaching a total of approximately 640,296 BTC. Despite this growth in Bitcoin accumulation, a significant capital outflow from the rest of the market is noteworthy.

Investors Pivot to Bitcoin as a Safe Haven

Users’ Ethereum (ETH) holdings decreased by 1.41% during the same period, falling to approximately 4.08 million ETH. This decline signifies an outflow of approximately 58,591 ETH from the exchange. Similarly, a 1.51% decrease was recorded for USDT, the market’s primary liquidity indicator. Users’ stablecoin holdings dropped by approximately 510 million units to the $33.7 billion level.

An analysis of the shared data and table details shows a 0.76% decrease in BNB, the exchange’s native asset, with total reserves standing at 43.5 million BNB. The fact that investors continued to accumulate Bitcoin while exiting key assets like USDT and Ethereum proves that risk perception in the market has shifted and users are retreating to areas they deem safer. This shift stands as one of the most remarkable asset rotations in recent months within Binance’s reserve reports.
