Jesse Pollak, the leader of the Base network, announced that in collaboration with Coinbase, they are working on 1:1 asset-backed tokenized products—a direct equivalent to stocks—challenging Robinhood’s derivative model.

According to information shared by Wu Blockchain, Jesse Pollak stated that Robinhood Chain chose the right direction by bringing tokenized stocks into the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) environment. While Pollak honestly admitted that they are currently trailing in this area, he emphasized that the joint effort with Coinbase will change this situation.

Pollak’s statements indicate that the Base network is not just entering a competition, but also aiming to build trust at an institutional level. Unlike the derivative-focused model offered by Robinhood in current market conditions, every product being developed on the Base side is planned to be backed 1:1 by a physical stock.
