Bitcoin’s Shallowest Drawdown in History: Glassnode Points to Critical Timeframe for Real Bottom

The latest report published by Glassnode reveals that the Bitcoin (BTC) market is experiencing the shallowest drawdown in history, yet time-based data suggests the bottoming process may not be complete.

Closely followed crypto analysis platform Glassnode has examined the current market situation in its new report titled “Paid to Wait.” Analysts compared the Bitcoin (BTC) price retracement to past cycles, sharing critical data about the bear market investors are currently facing. The most fundamental finding highlighted in the report is that while the current drawdown remains quite mild in terms of depth, it has not yet reached the end of the road in terms of duration.

The Depth and Duration Dilemma in the Bitcoin Bear Market

According to data shared by Glassnode, the price drawdown in the current cycle has reached a depth of 49 percent from the all-time high. This stands out as the shallowest bear market in Bitcoin (BTC) history. As clearly seen in the shared analysis chart, all previous cycles in 2014-15, 2018-19, and 2022-23 bottomed much lower than this level. However, this should not be interpreted as the market having left the worst behind.

Time-based metrics show that previous bear markets lasted approximately one-third longer than the current duration to reach a true bottom. This indicates that the calendar has not yet filled the time required for a bottom. For investors, this picture serves as a reminder that the title of “shallowest drawdown” should not bring relief; instead, patience and time are needed to confirm the bottom level. Although the analysis does not give a specific price target, it emphasizes that the market may need a bit more time for historical cycles to complete.
