$218 Billion Volume on Decentralized Exchange: Surpasses Total of Its 7 Closest Competitors

Hyperliquid established major dominance in the decentralized futures market by recording a $218 billion trading volume in July, surpassing the combined total of its seven closest competitors.

As the rise of decentralized exchanges (DEXs) continues in cryptocurrency markets, the Hyperliquid platform made its mark on the industry with its July data. Recent data shared by CryptoRank shows that the trading volume achieved by the platform has opened a massive gap compared to its rivals, despite the general downward trend in the market.

During July, a noticeable contraction was observed in total volumes within the perpetual futures market. The total volume of the eight largest platforms decreased by 17 percent compared to the previous month, losing approximately $85 billion in value. However, despite this overall decline, a large portion of trading activity continued to concentrate on Hyperliquid.

Hyperliquid Pulls Ahead of Competitors

Hyperliquid achieved a remarkable feat by generating $218 billion in trading volume alone in July. This figure even surpassed the $189 billion total volume reached by its seven leading competitors combined, such as Aster ($43.6 billion), Lighter ($36.4 billion), and GRVT ($34.4 billion). The data proves the platform’s overwhelming market share dominance and that users have chosen this protocol as their main hub.

Despite the $85 billion withdrawal in general market volume, Hyperliquid’s strong performance indicates that liquidity flow in the decentralized finance (DeFi) world is concentrating at a single point.
