Trump’s $636 Million Gain vs. $3.8 Billion Loss in Memecoin: Elizabeth Warren’s Critical Call to SEC

Senator Elizabeth Warren has called on the SEC to investigate the $3.8 billion loss suffered by investors, contrasting with Donald Trump’s $636 million gain from his meme coin project, as this ethical crisis brings the Clarity Act bill to a standstill.

U.S. Senators Elizabeth Warren and Richard Blumenthal, in an official letter sent to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Paul Atkins, requested a detailed investigation into the meme coin project named (TRUMP). With approximately 1 million investors reportedly losing a total of $3.8 billion, the addition of $636 million to President Trump’s personal fortune has sparked a major ethical debate. This development occurred during the most critical phase of negotiations for the Clarity Act, which aims to regulate the cryptocurrency markets.

The price of (TRUMP), which once soared to levels as high as $46, has since plummeted to $1.47. The senators argue that this sharp decline has compromised market integrity and threatens investor welfare. In particular, events organized by Trump at venues such as Mar-a-Lago, which temporarily inflated the price, are raising suspicions of “potential fraud schemes.” The White House has yet to respond to the ethics clause restricting high-level officials’ participation in crypto projects.

The Clarity Act and Uncertainty in Crypto Regulation

If the Clarity Act does not pass the Senate this week, cryptocurrency regulations in the U.S. could enter a long period of uncertainty. While Senate Majority Leader John Thune plans to initiate the voting process, passing the bill seems impossible without Democratic support. The possibility of Warren becoming the chair of the Senate Banking Committee after the elections suggests that pressure on the sector could increase even further.

Despite the SEC’s previous statements that it did not view such assets as securities, rising political pressure is creating unease in the markets. The very narrow scope of the ethical restrictions accepted by Trump is jeopardizing the future of the bill. This situation risks paralyzing efforts to establish a clear framework for U.S. cryptocurrency policies.
