Is a Massive Leap to $76,000 Looming for Bitcoin? Critical Pattern with 71% Success Rate is Taking Shape
Bitcoin’s recent stagnant price movements could be a harbinger of an inverse head-and-shoulders (H&S) formation targeting the $76,000 level in technical analysis.
The sideways trend diverting investor attention in the cryptocurrency market may actually be a preparation phase for a major rally. Looking at the Bitcoin (BTC) price chart through a technical lens, a bullish formation is taking shape. If this structure is confirmed, the current dull outlook for the leading cryptocurrency is expected to be replaced by a sharp upward wave.
This structure, which has become clear on the daily chart, consists of three main troughs. The left shoulder formed around $60,000 in early June, the head dipping to $57,700 in early July, and finally, the right shoulder formed with the reaction from $62,500, establish the framework of the pattern. The critical resistance level connecting these troughs, known as the neckline, is located around the $66,800 region.
Critical Threshold for Bitcoin: The $66,800 Resistance
For the formation to become active, the price must break the neckline at the $66,800 level with high volume. According to data from technical analysis expert Thomas Bulkowski, this formation reaches its target with a 71% success rate and carries only an 11% failure rate. The target price of $76,000 is calculated by adding the distance between the head and the neckline to the breakout point.
There are also risks ahead of the bullish scenario. While uncertainties regarding the Clarity Act, in particular, create pressure on the market, the 50-day simple moving average (SMA) serves as critical support on the technical side. A decisive drop below this average, currently at $63,321, would be the first serious signal that the formation has lost its validity. Therefore, it is important for investors to remain cautious until they see a sustained close above the neckline.
