Bhutanese Government Breaks Silence: Sells $27 Million Worth of Bitcoin via Binance

The Bhutanese government has broken nearly a month of silence by transferring $27.93 million worth of Bitcoin (BTC) assets to the cryptocurrency exchange Binance to conduct a sale.

While government digital asset management is closely monitored in the cryptocurrency world, the Kingdom of Bhutan has once again made headlines with its latest move. After a long period without any activity observed in its wallets, the government has moved to liquidate a portion of its Bitcoin (BTC) holdings. Details of this strategic move were revealed by the on-chain data tracking platform Lookonchain.

According to the data, the Bhutanese government sold a total of 434.87 Bitcoins (BTC). These assets, valued at approximately $27.93 million, were transferred to the Binance platform, the world’s largest exchange by trading volume. This transaction, carried out by the government after a one-month hiatus, is being closely watched by market analysts.

Gradual Bitcoin Transfers from the Bhutanese Government to Binance

Transaction details reflected in Arkham data show that the transfers were conducted at specific intervals and in a planned manner. Approximately 6 hours ago, 132.867 Bitcoin (BTC) were sent to the exchange, while a larger transfer of 302 units was made shortly before this transaction. Another notable detail was that before these large-volume shipments, very small test transfers were performed to confirm the security and accuracy of the wallet.

Bhutan has established a unique place for itself in the cryptocurrency market through its digital asset management. Having conducted similar sales via Binance about a month ago, the government continues to engage in profit realization based on the Bitcoin price and market conditions. While the government still holds a significant amount of digital assets in its wallets, this latest wave of sales proves that the country’s crypto strategy is actively ongoing.
