Bitcoin Surpasses $65,000 Mark: Critical US Data to Determine Crypto’s Fate
Bitcoin (BTC) has moved into the spotlight for investors by surpassing the $65,000 mark ahead of critical inflation data coming from the US.
The cryptocurrency market got off to a busy start to the week, and the leading cryptocurrency Bitcoin (BTC) climbed above $65,000 with a weekly gain of nearly 3%. Following the weak employment data released last week, easing concerns over Federal Reserve (Fed) interest rate hikes created a positive atmosphere in the markets. Now, all eyes are on the July inflation data to be announced on Wednesday.
A similar upward trend prevails in other major assets. Ethereum (ETH) is trading around the $1,919 level, while Solana (SOL) drew attention with a 5% weekly increase. BNB (BNB) followed a horizontal course at the $603 level, while XRP (XRP) was the only major asset to decouple negatively with a 4% weekly decline. The positive sentiment in global stock markets and the rise in technology companies continue to support cryptocurrencies.
US Inflation Data and Bitcoin Price
Inflation figures, which directly affect consumers’ daily spending and cost of living, are seen as the most important factor that will determine Bitcoin’s short-term fate. If inflation data comes in above expectations, it could pressure Bitcoin’s price by strengthening expectations that interest rates will remain high. In particular, the consumer price index, which reflects price increases on store shelves and rising costs, directly affects investors’ risk appetite.
The Bitcoin ecosystem has also grappled with some technical challenges over the last ten days. Despite issues related to wallet security and brief disruptions in the network, the market has managed to remain resilient. While macroeconomic factors such as the rise in oil prices and the strengthening of the dollar against other currencies are being monitored, the primary decisive factor for cryptocurrency investors will be the economic data coming from the US.
