Bitcoin Holds Above $63,000: $390 Million ETF Outflow Leaves Rally Vulnerable

While Bitcoin held above $63,000 following a recovery in equity markets, a $390 million weekly outflow from spot ETFs indicated that the rally remains fragile in terms of institutional demand.

Bitcoin has remained above $63,000, rising 0.8% to $63,501.46 since UTC midnight on Monday. While there was no clear crypto catalyst, Nasdaq 100 futures rose 0.5% to reach their highest level since July 2.

Despite the recovery in price, spot Bitcoin ETF flows—a key indicator of institutional demand—remained weak. US-based products saw a net outflow of $390 million last week. This marked the largest weekly outflow in six weeks and the first time three consecutive days of outflows have been recorded since late July. While Ethereum ETF flows remained limited, Solana ETFs recorded their strongest weekly inflows since mid-May.

This gap, representing outstanding futures contracts, increases the risk of volatility due to low liquidity during sharp liquidations. While Bitcoin open interest fell from Friday’s 760,000 BTC to 750,000 BTC, XRP futures remained at a 10-month high.

On the regulatory front, Alex Thorn reduced the probability of the Clarity Act being enacted in 2026 to 10%; prediction markets, however, give it a 17% probability. A cloture vote is scheduled in the Senate for September 15, though another delay is expected. ZEC rose 4.70%, while the Altcoin Season indicator reached 46/100.
