Bitcoin Above $77,000: All Eyes on Fed Chair Warsh’s First Jackson Hole Speech
Bitcoin maintains its weekly gains as Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s first speech at Jackson Hole approaches this week; high oil prices and bond yields are being monitored as the primary tests for the crypto rally.
According to CoinDesk, Bitcoin saw limited intraday declines in Asian trading, remaining just above $77,100. Despite this, its gains over the last seven days exceed more than 21 percent. The strongest asset of the week was XRP. Despite falling more than 1 percent on Monday, XRP rose 46 percent on a weekly basis, approaching $1.50.
Following this movement, investors are focused on Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s first Jackson Hole speech. Jackson Hole is known as the meeting where the Fed chair provides annual messages regarding the direction of the central bank’s interest rate policy. Although the speech is not an official rate decision, it is considered a significant signal for future interest rate steps.

Warsh’s interest rate message is critical for crypto
If expectations for a rate cut strengthen, borrowing costs will decrease, and investors may turn to riskier assets like crypto. Otherwise, government bonds become more attractive. While Brent oil is around $93, the US 10-year bond yield is at the 4.71 percent level. High oil prices increase inflationary pressure, while high bond yields can complicate expectations for rate cuts.
The outlook for risky assets outside of crypto is weaker. The MSCI index tracking Asian markets fell by 1 percent; Samsung Electronics lost 8.7 percent, Alibaba 9.6 percent, and SoftBank 4.9 percent. Investors will also watch Nvidia’s earnings this week. The company’s chip sales used in AI investments and its expectations for future quarters will be an important indicator for general risk appetite.
