Third Consecutive Positive Week for Bitcoin and Ether ETFs: August Flows Hit One-Year High

The three-week streak of inflows into Bitcoin and Ether ETFs signaled one of the strongest periods of institutional demand in nearly a year this August.

Inflows into U.S. spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tracking Bitcoin and Ether prices continued for the third consecutive week. According to a report by The Block based on SoSoValue data, Bitcoin ETFs recorded net inflows of $986.9 million last week, while Ether ETFs saw $218.4 million in net inflows.

Weekly inflows into Bitcoin ETFs surpassed the $924.5 million level from the previous week, marking three consecutive weeks of positive flows. Of the weekly inflows, $691.5 million was directed toward BlackRock’s IBIT fund.

Strong August Flows in Bitcoin and Ether ETFs

The weekly data stood out as a continuation of the broader capital movement in August. Bitcoin ETFs saw a total of $3.52 billion in net inflows last month. This figure represents the strongest monthly positive flow recorded in Bitcoin funds since September 2025.

Net inflows for Ether ETFs reached $1.85 billion in August. This was recorded as the highest monthly inflow for Ether funds since August 2025. The simultaneous three-week streak across both assets provided a measurable signal that institutional investors are rebuilding positions through ETF channels.

Dominick John, an analyst at Zeus Research, stated that the sustained ETF inflows indicate a resurgence of direct Bitcoin demand rather than leveraged trades. Min Jung from Presto Research noted that the market is attempting to catch up with movements that trailed other risk assets in the crypto market.

While the Bitcoin price remains around $80,000, the market’s next direction will be influenced by September 10 unemployment claims and September 11 consumer price index data. While a supportive macro outlook could extend the rally, inflation data above expectations could pose a downside risk.
