Bithumb Issues Trading Warning for This Altcoin: Price Plummets 17%!

Bithumb has decided to issue a trading warning for the altcoin Hemi (HEMI) traded on its spot market.

The reason for the decision was explained as a security vulnerability found in the smart contract related to the initial reward distribution claim process conducted by the project’s issuer or operating entity, which resulted in the unusual external transfer of certain assets. The exchange also stated that critical information that could influence investment decisions was not disclosed in a timely manner, and an additional review is required regarding information sharing and the project’s intervention.

Bithumb announced the date for placing HEMI under the trading warning as September 9, 2026. It was announced that deposits are scheduled to be suspended at 05:50 TRT. It was reported that even deposits sent before this time may have limited reflection due to network congestion and confirmation delays, and deposits made during the suspension period cannot be processed. It was stated that these deposits may be processed sequentially if trading support ends or the warning is lifted.

The announcement cited Subparagraph (e) of Paragraph 1 of Article 17 of the Enforcement Decree of the Virtual Asset User Protection Act as the legal basis for the decision. It was also noted that the schedule may change due to internal reasons.

According to CoinMarketCap data, the current dollar price for Hemi (HEMI) is at the $0.007316 level. The altcoin has experienced a 17.11% drop in 24 hours.

A trading warning does not mean that trading support is definitively terminated. If the reasons for the warning are resolved, the warning may be lifted; the period may be extended, or trading support may be terminated. An announcement regarding one of these options is planned to be made between October 5 and October 9, 2026.
