Bitget Announces New Post-Attack Measures: New Checks for All Withdrawals

Following a security breach, Bitget announced that it will independently verify all withdrawal requests and require multiple approvals for critical system operations.

According to a statement reported by Wu Blockchain, cryptocurrency exchange Bitget is extending its post-attack security measures to both withdrawal processes and internal access permissions. As access to sensitive systems is reconfigured, multiple approvals will be required to carry out critical operations.

Independent verification for all withdrawal requests

Under the new measures, all withdrawal requests will be independently verified. This check is part of the security measures governing the exchange’s withdrawal processing procedures.

Bitget also reported that it revoked all internal access credentials and replaced them with new ones. This invalidated the old credentials used in the company’s internal systems.

Affected third-party functions to remain disabled

The exchange will keep the third-party security functions affected by the attack disabled until remediation work is complete. Reorganizing access permissions, requiring multiple approvals for critical operations, and independently verifying withdrawal requests are the key steps in the new security package it announced.
