Apple, Nvidia and Tesla Stocks Are Coming to Solana—NYSE Is Also in the Plans

Securitize announced that it will offer tokenized shares of 12 companies, including Apple, Nvidia and Tesla, on Solana, and aims to bring the product to the New York Stock Exchange’s planned digital trading platform in the future.

According to the announcement reported by CoinDesk, Securitize Stocks will provide access to shares of major U.S. companies through crypto infrastructure. Initial trading will take place on Securitize’s existing Solana-based platform; Jump Trading will provide liquidity, and trades will settle in USDC.

The initial rollout is planned to cover 12 companies. Those named in the announcement include Apple, Nvidia and Tesla, as well as Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Netflix, Circle, Strategy and Palantir.

New York Stock Exchange and major crypto exchange also in the plans

Securitize expects the stock tokens to eventually trade on the New York Stock Exchange’s planned 24/7 digital trading platform. Another target is the OKXICE Tokenized Securities Venue, a joint venture between the New York Stock Exchange’s parent company, Intercontinental Exchange, and OKX.

Both expansions are contingent on the platforms launching and meeting regulatory requirements. Initially, eligible investors in the U.S., Europe and other permitted markets will be offered extended trading hours; 24/7 access is planned for a later stage.

What rights will investors who buy tokens have?

According to the company, each stock token will be backed by a real share. The structure is designed to preserve applicable shareholder rights and economic benefits, including dividends and voting rights.

Rather than being directly recorded in a company’s shareholder register, token holders will hold tokens representing rights to the underlying shares. A conversion option may also be offered if the companies issuing the shares adopt tokenization.

RQD will support the clearing, custody and settlement infrastructure that connects the tokens to traditional securities markets. Ripple Prime plans to explore institutional use cases for these assets.

Securitize’s move is another example of efforts to enable stocks to trade for longer hours and be used in blockchain-based financial applications. The product’s initial focus is bringing shares of major companies to Solana through a structure intended to preserve existing investor rights.
