Did Linked Wallets Sell While a Crypto Influencer Praised Tokens? 49 Posts Reviewed
Bubblemaps examined crypto influencer Ethan’s promotion of 49 tokens and alleged that wallets suspected of being linked to him bought before the posts, then began selling within an average of three minutes.
The influencer, who promotes tokens in the Pump.fun ecosystem and is known as @0xEthan on X, came under scrutiny over the timing of buys and sells. An analysis reported by Wu Blockchain focused less on the promoted tokens themselves and more on wallet activity before and after the promotions.
Alleged buying before posts, selling within three minutes
In the 49 promotions examined, wallets believed to be linked to Ethan reportedly usually bought tokens before a post went live. The average time it took these wallets to begin selling after the first promotion was calculated at three minutes.
What drew particular attention was that some sales took place while Ethan continued speaking positively about the same tokens. The discrepancy between the positive messages seen by followers and the wallets’ transactions thus became the focus of the analysis.
Promotional payments featured prominently in estimated earnings
According to Bubblemaps’ calculations, trading profits and rewards received for promotions totaled approximately $125,000. Of that amount, $45,000 came from trading profits and $80,000 from promotional rewards.
The wallets’ connection to Ethan and the earnings figures are based on Bubblemaps’ estimates and have not been independently verified.
