Interactive Brokers Gives Ethereum Holders a New Option Beyond Trading

Interactive Brokers has launched its first staking service, allowing eligible clients to stake their Ethereum holdings and earn additional ETH rewards.

According to The Block, the brokerage has added a staking option to its crypto trading and transfer services. Initially, only Ethereum (ETH) is supported; clients can access the service through the Client Portal.

The service, provided by crypto infrastructure company Zerohash, is available to clients who meet the participation requirements. Staking allows users to earn rewards in exchange for allocating crypto assets to support a network’s operations.

Earned ETH will also be added to the staked balance

Rewards will be deposited into clients’ accounts as additional staked ETH. As a result, as long as the position remains staked, rewards can also be added to the balance, potentially allowing returns to compound.

Interactive Brokers CEO Milan Galik compared the new option to the company’s program that lets clients earn additional income on the shares they own. Galik said the company aims to help clients get more out of the assets they hold.

A new addition to crypto services

Interactive Brokers launched crypto trading in 2021 and expanded the scope of its services in early 2025. In January of this year, the company also introduced 24/7 account funding with USDC.

Ethereum staking is the latest service added to this trading and transfer infrastructure.
