USDC’s issuer Circle reported approximately $1.4 billion in revenue in the first half of 2026, with about 7% of that revenue remaining as net profit after distribution and other expenses.
According to a company statement reported by Wu Blockchain, the largest share of Circle’s six-month revenue went to USDC distribution partners and transaction costs. The $819 million allocated to this category accounted for about 59% of total revenue.
Where did most of the revenue go?
Circle also reported spending $473 million on licensing, banking relationships, liquidity for payment settlement, compliance, and product development. These expenses accounted for about 34% of revenue.
According to the breakdown shared by the company, the two main expense categories together accounted for about 93%. The remaining approximately 7% net profit margin showed how much of its substantial revenue the company retained.
24/7 USDC redemption
Circle also said that Circle Payments Network users and eligible Circle Platform customers can redeem their USDC for free, around the clock, and almost instantly. Redemption means returning USDC to the issuer in exchange for its value; the access described applies to these customer groups.
According to usage data provided by the company, USDC’s onchain transaction volume exceeded $36 trillion in the first half of 2026. Circle also reported that USDC accounted for about 77% of global stablecoin transaction volume in June.
