The crypto whale known as Machi, who was up about $45 million on Hyperliquid a year ago, has swung to a loss of nearly $37 million and lost almost all of the 250,000 USDC he deposited most recently.
On October 18, on-chain data platform Lookonchain reported in a post that Machi’s positions on Hyperliquid had once again been completely liquidated. The liquidation occurred about four hours before the post was published.
Account swings from profit to loss in one year
According to data shared by Lookonchain, Machi was up $44.84 million on Hyperliquid a year ago. In the latest figures, all of those gains have been wiped out, leaving the account with a total profit and loss of negative $36.85 million.
There is an approximately $81.7 million adverse swing between these two figures. This difference does not represent the amount lost in the latest liquidation, but the change between the account’s profitable position a year ago and its current loss.
Latest 250,000 USDC deposit didn’t last either
Machi deposited 250,000 USDC into the account two days before the latest liquidation. Lookonchain said that amount was also almost entirely wiped out. The new funds added to the account were therefore unable to prevent the positions from being liquidated again.
