The 90-day dollar average of XRP whale withdrawals from Binance has fallen to its lowest level in five years, suggesting large investors may be waiting for lower prices before accumulating again.
An analysis shared by CryptoQuant said the 90-day moving average of XRP whale outflows had fallen to $49.7 million. This metric, which tracks assets moved off Binance, has returned to its lowest level since October 2021.
The analysis examines exchange withdrawals as an indicator of whales’ accumulation trends. The picture was quite different around the cycle peak, when XRP reached approximately $3.3: In February 2025, the same average climbed as high as $3.5 billion, with some daily movements exceeding $10 billion. The latest reading shows that the intense withdrawals of that period have given way to a marked lull.

Are XRP whales waiting for a more attractive price?
The possibility highlighted in the analysis is that large investors are waiting for a more attractive entry price before making strong purchases again. XRP’s relative resilience in the bear market may have prevented prices from falling low enough to encourage the kind of intense accumulation seen in 2022 and 2023.
The price significance of this interpretation lies in support from long-term buyers. The analysis notes that buying volume in XRP could remain weak if whale interest does not return. However, it also points out that periods when interest and volume have fallen to very low levels can sometimes coincide with turning points in the trend.
Therefore, the main development to watch is whether large investors resume accumulating at a faster pace. The five-year low highlights the current lull in whale activity but does not, on its own, indicate when a reversal will occur.
