Uniswap has launched on three networks a feature that incorporates liquidity from rival platforms into its trades, while linking the protocol fees collected from these trades to UNI burns.
According to a statement Uniswap Labs gave to The Block, the new feature went live on Ethereum, Base, and Robinhood Chain. When users swap through Uniswap’s web app, they are no longer limited to prices in the platform’s own pools; liquidity from other supported platforms is also evaluated automatically.
Prices on rival platforms are compared, too
External liquidity sources initially include Fluid, Curve, and PancakeSwap. Uniswap compares prices in its own pools with those on these platforms and completes the trade in a single blockchain transaction.
This connection is enabled by tools called “aggregator hooks,” which add functionality to pools in Uniswap v4. An external liquidity source can be used by the routing system as if it were a Uniswap pool. Developers can also access the same sources through the Uniswap API.
Trades routed externally will contribute to UNI burns
The fee connection is the aspect of the new feature that stands out for UNI. Uniswap Labs said that trades routed to external liquidity sources will also pay a Uniswap protocol fee, and that these fees will contribute to UNI token burns.
This means the flow of trades supporting burns will no longer be limited to Uniswap’s own pools. The amount of additional fees generated and the extent to which they will contribute to burns will depend on the use of this routing; no specific burn amount was announced.
The plan was first raised in the UNIfication proposal in November 2025. The first implementation went live in March 2026 on Tempo, a payments-focused network developed by Stripe and Paradigm. Tempo support is available only on the web app, while the three newly added networks support both the web app and the API.
Uniswap Labs says the protocol has processed more than $4.5 trillion in total trading volume to date. The company plans to expand this feature, which also brings liquidity from external platforms into v4, to more blockchains.
