Altcoin That Doubled in a Week Reverses Course: What Happened Two Days Before the Price Peak?

As BAT’s price, which doubled in a week, pulled back 10%, Santiment noted that active addresses reached their highest level two days before the price peak.

In a summary of its weekly Anomaly Report shared on October 23, Santiment compared price movements in BAT and TIA with the timing of investor participation. On-chain activity in BAT increased before the price peak, while participation in TIA lagged behind the rally driven by news.

Active Addresses in BAT Peaked Before the Price

BAT’s price doubled over seven days. Santiment said it had not identified a clear catalyst for the rally, while reporting that the number of active addresses rose 252%.

Active addresses reached their highest level two days before the price peaked. According to the latest figures shared in the post, the number of active addresses was 46% below its own peak, while the price was down 10%.

This timing difference is what stands out in BAT’s move: the peak in network participation and the price peak did not occur on the same day. Because active addresses track addresses that transact during a given period, they also show how on-chain activity changes alongside the price.

The Same Pattern Appeared in TIA for Two Weeks in a Row

Santiment pointed to a different sequence in TIA. The price rose after news broke, and the increase in investor participation followed about a day later. The firm said this pattern had repeated for the second week in a row.

In both examples, the price was reported to have pulled back by about 13% afterward. BAT’s participation strengthening before the price peak, while TIA’s participation followed the rally with a delay, stood out as two distinct examples in the report.
