Bitcoin ETFs Recoup $5.8B in Outflows: What’s Still Missing for Bulls?
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recouped their year-to-date net outflows, which had reached $5.8 billion in July, and moved to about $800 million in net inflows; however, the annual total is still well below previous years.
According to a report by CoinDesk citing SoSoValue data, billions of dollars flowing into U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds in recent weeks reversed the flow picture for 2026. The funds’ cumulative net flows year to date stood at a low for the year of minus $5.8 billion on July 13. In the latest data, the same measure had turned positive by about $800 million.
These figures reflect the difference between investor inflows and outflows, not investment gains or losses for the funds. The recovery coincided with Bitcoin’s rise from below $58,000 in early June to around $85,000.
$2.84 Billion Over Six Trading Days
The funds recorded total net inflows of $2.84 billion over six consecutive trading days. According to the source, ETF inflows continued even as Bitcoin’s rally lost momentum above $85,000.
This streak surpassed the $2.35 billion recorded over six trading days between February 22 and 29, 2024. However, it fell short of the $4.73 billion six-day streak between November 6 and 13, 2024. Thus, although the latest inflows were strong, they were not the highest among the historical examples cited.
Back in Positive Territory, but Still Far Behind Previous Years
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded net inflows of $35.24 billion over all of 2024 and $21.37 billion over all of 2025. Net inflows of about $800 million for the portion of 2026 completed so far remain well below the totals of previous years.

The picture is two-sided for investors with a bullish outlook: Net outflows for the year have been fully recouped, but cumulative net demand year to date has yet to come close to previous years’ totals. The return to positive territory alone does not show that inflows will continue at the same pace.
