A New Source of Funding for This Altcoin’s Buybacks: $14.6 Million Came In During the First 30 Days!
Hyperliquid received a payment of 14.58 million USDC for the first 30-day period under the AQAv2 mechanism, which directs USDC reserve income toward HYPE buybacks.
According to Wu Blockchain, a new revenue stream has been added to the funds financing Hyperliquid’s HYPE purchases. This payment, which is separate from transaction fees, is directed to the Assistance Fund used by the protocol to buy its own token.
How is income from USDC reserves used?
Under the AQAv2 framework, costs are deducted from the yield generated by reserves held against the USDC supply, and approximately 90 percent of the remaining yield is shared with the protocol. This income transferred to Hyperliquid is also added to the funds used to purchase HYPE.
As a result, buybacks are funded not only by fees collected from transactions on the platform but also by returns generated by USDC reserves. The first payment of 14.58 million USDC shows the scale this new source reached over a 30-day period.
Why does this matter for HYPE buybacks?
Additional income for the buyback fund expands the budget available to purchase HYPE. Adding returns from reserves to the existing structure based on transaction fees diversifies the sources used to fund purchases.
With the first payment, the mechanism has begun generating tangible revenue; the amounts transferred from USDC reserves in subsequent periods will determine how much this new source contributes to buybacks.
