ICE, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, plans to become a partner in Trade xyz and build a U.S.-focused perpetual futures market based on traditional assets using Hyperliquid infrastructure.
According to a report by Wu Blockchain citing Bloomberg, Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) will take a stake in Trade xyz as part of the collaboration. The plan calls for one of the world’s best-known exchange groups to invest in a venture that will bring traditional markets such as equities, commodities, and foreign exchange together with crypto infrastructure.
Contracts ranging from stocks to currencies are planned
The market, which is intended to operate under U.S. regulation, plans to offer perpetual futures contracts tied to stocks, indexes, commodities, and exchange rates. The launch of these derivatives, which have no fixed expiration date, will be subject to regulatory approval.
Hyperliquid will be used for the market’s technical infrastructure. The venture also aims to establish dedicated compliance processes for clearing, know-your-customer (KYC), and anti-money laundering (AML).
ICE will not only partner, but also become a shareholder
ICE’s stake in Trade xyz will form the investment component of the collaboration. The investment amount and ownership percentage were not disclosed.
Trade xyz has previously offered perpetual futures contracts on Hyperliquid tied to traditional assets such as crude oil and stock indexes. The new venture aims to bring this product approach to a regulated U.S. market with ICE as a partner.
