Has Binance Closed the Security Gap? CryptoQuant Weighs In on Funds and Withdrawals

CryptoQuant reported that Binance has fully replenished the assets it lost in the attack, and said it saw no signs of panic outflows in Bitcoin flows during the first 12 hours after withdrawals reopened.

According to the assessment shared by the on-chain analytics platform, Binance repurchased the lost assets on the over-the-counter (OTC) market and published a new proof-of-reserves report. The update came after the exchange previously announced that it had recovered 90% of the shortfall.

CryptoQuant also said withdrawals were processed smoothly during the period it reviewed and that no new security issue was observed. The platform’s assessment is that there is no sign users rushed to withdraw their assets as soon as withdrawal access reopened.

16,000 Bitcoin withdrawn, flows deemed normal

As of the measurement shared in the update, Binance recorded a net outflow of 16,021 BTC. CryptoQuant reported that the total Bitcoin withdrawn amounted to approximately 2.43% of reserves and characterized the net Bitcoin flow as normal.

The exchange had previously reported $3.64 billion in net outflows across all assets in the first 9.5 hours after withdrawals resumed. CryptoQuant’s Bitcoin-focused assessment, however, focuses less on the size of that movement and more on how it should be interpreted in terms of the exchange’s reserves and user behavior.

What ratios appear on the reserve screen?

The shared reserve screen shows balances as of October 31, 2026, at 00:00 UTC. The image shows a Bitcoin reserve ratio of 100.04%, ratios of 100% for Ethereum and USDT, and a ratio of 101.30% for BNB. These ratios represent the reserves shown against customer balances for the assets listed on the screen.

However, the Merkle Root Hash field in the same image is marked “In Progress.” Therefore, the screen should not be read as proof that all cryptographic verification steps have been completed. The information that all losses have been covered is based on CryptoQuant’s report; the reserve ratios for the four assets shown in the image alone do not verify this conclusion for all assets.
