BitMine bought another 8,573 Ethereum last week, bringing its total holdings to 6.06 million ETH, while allocating about 86% of its coins to staking.
According to a company statement reported by Wu Blockchain, BitMine increased its total Ethereum (ETH) holdings to 6,060,506 ETH after its weekly purchases. That amount represents approximately 4.9% of the Ethereum supply.
Staking most of its Ethereum
The company said it has staked 5,227,037 ETH. Based on the figures provided, that amount accounts for approximately 86% of BitMine’s total Ethereum holdings.
In addition to accumulating Ethereum, BitMine is using most of its holdings to participate in the network’s validation process and earn rewards.
Total assets worth $14.5 billion
The total value of BitMine’s crypto assets, cash, marketable securities, and other investments was reported at approximately $14.5 billion. Cash and marketable securities account for $498 million of that amount.
