$35B Fund Expands Ripple Partnership Beyond Investment

Brevan Howard, which manages approximately $35 billion, is expanding its relationship with Ripple, in which it is an investor, and will receive brokerage, clearing, and financing services across different asset classes from Ripple Prime for its funds.

According to a statement reported by The Block, Brevan Howard is preparing to make broader use of Ripple’s institutional infrastructure and digital asset products. The new agreement expands the relationship between the two institutions by adding services for the funds’ trading activities.

Last year, Brevan Howard participated in Ripple’s $500 million strategic funding round. Now, its funds will use Ripple Prime’s brokerage, trade clearing, and financing services.

From investor relationship to broader use of services

Alan McGroarty, chief operating officer of Brevan Howard Group, said the need for institutional-grade digital asset infrastructure is growing as digital and traditional markets become more interconnected. McGroarty said they expect Ripple’s platform to streamline investment teams’ operations and help them use their capital more efficiently.

The figure of approximately $35 billion refers to Brevan Howard’s total assets under management; the amount to be used through Ripple Prime under the agreement was not disclosed.

Ripple Prime expands its institutional services

Ripple Prime was established following Ripple’s acquisition of institutional brokerage firm Hidden Road. The platform provides large investors with brokerage and financing infrastructure for trading across different asset classes.

The company, which received a BBB credit rating from KBRA this year, aims to expand into areas such as equity brokerage and swap transactions. Ripple Prime had also secured $200 million in debt financing from Neuberger Berman to expand its collateral-backed lending services for institutional clients.

The platform’s earlier integration of Hyperliquid established its first direct connection to decentralized finance markets. The expanded agreement with Brevan Howard is another step in Ripple Prime’s strategy to make this infrastructure available to large funds.
