Lookonchain reported that the address it linked to the attacker who stole more than $270 million in assets from Drift Protocol deposited $61.56 million worth of Ethereum into Tornado Cash after two months of inactivity.
According to the on-chain tracking platform’s October 20 post, 25,700 ETH was sent from the address to Tornado Cash in the two hours before the post. This ended two months of silence from the funds being tracked in connection with the Drift attack.
$195 Million Worth of Ethereum Remains After the Transfer
After the transfer, the attacker was reported to hold 81,864 ETH. Lookonchain estimated the value of this remaining balance at approximately $195 million at the time of the post.
What stands out about the latest move is that a large amount of ETH was sent to Tornado Cash after two months of inactivity. Despite the 25,700 ETH transfer, the tracked address still holds more than three times that amount in Ethereum.
