Binance Founder CZ Breaks Silence: Here Are His New Plans for the US and the Industry
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) aims to clear up misunderstandings about him and present a new vision for the US to become a cryptocurrency hub following his prison sentence and departure from the CEO role.
One of the most influential figures in the cryptocurrency world, Changpeng Zhao, also known as CZ, has broken his long silence to share his plans for the future. Although the Binance founder no longer manages the daily operations of the giant exchange, he continues to maintain his weight in the industry. Stating that he is on a mission to reintroduce himself in an interview in Washington, CZ aims to both repair his personal image and find solutions to liquidity issues in the US market.
CZ argues that US investors do not have access to the best prices in global markets. According to him, liquidity barriers must be overcome for the US to become a true crypto capital. He states that as the trading volume and depth of exchanges increase, costs such as transaction fees and price slippage paid by users will decrease. As seen in the visual, in an environment where Bitcoin (BTC) prices and market data are closely monitored, he emphasizes the transparency and accessibility of the sector.
CZ’s New Role and Independent Management Approach
Remaining the largest shareholder of Binance and Binance.US, CZ states that he stays completely away from the companies’ management processes. Emphasizing that both platforms have their own leadership teams and act independently of each other, the famous figure prefers to remain not as a CEO, but as a consultant supporting founders in the background. He even says that in his home life, he does not discuss business with his partner and Binance co-founder Yi He, only following general market data like the Bitcoin price.
With future plans focused on projects like Giggle Academy and YZi Labs, CZ clearly states that he has no intention of running an exchange again. Instead of examining financial statements, he uses the Bitcoin (BTC) price as an index to understand the general trajectory of companies. Content with remaining someone “specialized in a single field,” in his own words, CZ will continue to grow the ecosystem by unofficially guiding hundreds of portfolio companies.
