Bitcoin Whales Double March Record: Massive Buying Surge Ahead of Critical Data
In the Bitcoin market, giant whales have doubled their March accumulation record with massive purchases ahead of critical inflation data from the US, while small investors have shifted to the selling side.
While the cryptocurrency market is focused on the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Producer Price Index (PPI) data to be released this week, on-chain data shows a sharp divergence between investor groups. According to data shared by CryptoQuant, the largest group of investors, holding more than 10,000 Bitcoin (BTC) in their wallets, executed their strongest accumulation move in the last five months. These massive purchases prove that the market’s largest players are in strategic preparation ahead of macroeconomic uncertainties.
According to data recorded on August 9, addresses holding more than 10,000 BTC made a total net accumulation of 46,420 BTC. This figure caught attention by reaching approximately double the accumulation peak of 23,238 BTC seen on March 15. The sharp upward movement in the data clearly reveals that this group has its most aggressive buying appetite since March.
Small Investors Selling While Whales Accumulate
On the other side of the market, the situation is following the exact opposite trend. Small-scale investors holding between 0.1 and 1 BTC in their wallets performed net sales of approximately 9,700 BTC during the same period. While this group painted an optimistic picture by accumulating about 11,600 BTC on July 5, they transitioned from accumulation to the distribution phase with a deviation of more than 21,000 BTC in just one month.
This contrast between large and small investors is considered a critical signal in terms of market structure. This divergence occurring ahead of US inflation data shows that large capital holders are increasing their risk appetite, while small investors are acting cautiously and reducing their positions. Although it is difficult to make a direct prediction on the Bitcoin price, accumulation of this scale by whales indicates that institutional confidence in the market persists.
