BlackRock Acquired $852 Million in BTC and $316 Million in ETH Over the Last 2 Days
BlackRock accumulated approximately $1.17 billion in cryptocurrency by purchasing 11,098 BTC and 132,769 ETH over the last two days.
On-chain data tracking platform Lookonchain reported that BlackRock purchased 11,098 Bitcoin (BTC) within the last two days. The total value of these purchases was calculated at approximately $852 million. During the same period, 132,769 Ethereum (ETH) were purchased, with a transaction value of approximately $316 million.
The total purchases across both assets show that BlackRock has significantly increased its cryptocurrency position in a short period. Unlike previously announced ETF inflow tables, the data provides an on-chain indicator revealing direct wallet movements.
BlackRock’s IBIT purchases tracked on-chain
Transactions on the Bitcoin side appear to be linked to transfers from the Coinbase Prime hot wallet to BlackRock’s IBIT Bitcoin ETF address. On-chain records mostly show transactions of 300 BTC, while one of the transfers was recorded as 267.478 BTC. The value of individual transactions ranged between approximately $19.34 million and $21.75 million.

The fact that the Ethereum purchase also occurred within the same two-day period may indicate that institutional investor interest in ETH is strengthening. However, this data alone does not constitute a definitive price direction signal. BTC and ETH movements provide on-chain confirmation of institutional accumulation, independent of ETF flow data.
