Crypto Firm Plans $500 Million IPO After Confidential SEC Filing
Blockchain.com is reportedly aiming to go public by the end of the year, raising around $500 million and reaching a valuation of $4 billion to $6 billion.
According to a Bloomberg report citing people familiar with the matter, London-based Blockchain.com is holding IPO discussions with potential investors. The talks include a $4 billion–$6 billion valuation for the company and a fundraising target of around $500 million.
The company, which offers cryptocurrency exchange, wallet, trading, and lending services, has drawn attention with its plan after a quiet period for crypto-sector IPOs. The company did not respond to CoinDesk’s request for comment on the report.
Blockchain.com took its first step toward an IPO earlier
Earlier this year, Blockchain.com confidentially filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a potential IPO. This approach allows the SEC’s review process to begin before financial details related to the IPO are made public.
The year-end timeline and fundraising and valuation targets outline the plan taking shape in investor discussions following the filing.
Will activity return to crypto IPOs?
In 2025, companies such as Circle, Gemini Space Station, and Bullish went public. By contrast, crypto IPOs went through a quieter period in 2026.
The weakness seen in the crypto market during the first half of the year may have led some companies to postpone their plans while waiting for prices to recover. With asset prices rising again over the past few months, Blockchain.com’s year-end target has become one of the sector’s prominent IPO plans.
