Robinhood Launches Crypto Trading in the UK: More Than 50 Digital Assets Arrive on Main App
Robinhood is expanding its service network by enabling the trading of over 50 cryptocurrencies through its main app in the United Kingdom via Bitstamp integration.
The world-renowned investment platform Robinhood has officially launched cryptocurrency trading for its users in the UK market, in line with its global growth targets. Leveraging the infrastructure of Bitstamp, the long-standing exchange it acquired last year for $200 million, the company has integrated digital assets into its main investment app. This allows British investors to enter the world of crypto through the same interface as stocks, options, and futures.
AI-Powered Analysis and Low Commission Advantage
In this new era, users will have access to more than 50 cryptocurrencies in total, including popular assets like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and XRP (XRP). Robinhood announced that it will not charge any trading, account maintenance, or custody fees for this service. However, users will pay a small commission for currency conversion transactions, ranging from 0.1% to 0.3% on weekends. Additionally, the AI-powered Cortex Digests feature added to the platform will interpret market news and technical analysis data to provide real-time summaries for investors.
The service is provided by Bitstamp UK Ltd, which is registered with the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The company noted that crypto assets in this context are not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) or the Financial Ombudsman Service.
This strategic move by the company continues to reflect positively on its financial results. Raising its net revenue to $1.31 billion in the second quarter, Robinhood also draws attention with its own blockchain network, Robinhood Chain. This Arbitrum-based network has generated over $18 billion in decentralized exchange volume since July, while its total value locked (TVL) exceeded $840 million. With this move in the UK, the company aims to make digital assets an indispensable part of a modern portfolio.
