Robinhood’s Crypto Revenue Slumps 38%: Major Move for SpaceX and Nvidia

Despite reporting second-quarter financial results that exceeded expectations, Robinhood saw its share price decline in the stock market due to the impact of a sharp drop in cryptocurrency revenue.

The popular trading platform Robinhood (HOOD) announced that it achieved record revenue in its second-quarter earnings report, surpassing analyst estimates. The company’s earnings per share came in at $0.62, while total revenue reached $1.31 billion, a 32% year-over-year increase. However, despite this strong performance, a slowdown in cryptocurrency trading volumes sparked concern among investors, causing the company’s shares to fall approximately 4% in after-hours trading.

The company’s revenue from cryptocurrencies decreased by 38% compared to the same period last year, falling to the $100 million level. This indicates a slight cooling of interest in digital assets among retail investors. Robinhood’s data also serves as a critical leading indicator for Coinbase (COIN), which shares a similar user profile. Analysts are closely monitoring how this trend at Robinhood might impact the financial results to be announced by Coinbase.

A New Era with Robinhood Chain and Tokenized Stocks

Accelerating its strategic moves against the decline in crypto revenue, Robinhood launched the Robinhood Chain blockchain network for its users in Europe. Through this network, tokenized—digitized—shares of giant companies such as GameStop, Nvidia, and SpaceX have begun trading. CEO Vlad Tenev stated that they are operating with the vision of making everyone an asset owner and are accelerating this process by moving traditional financial assets onto the blockchain. Daily decentralized exchange volume on the blockchain has already reached hundreds of millions of dollars.

The company also introduced new artificial intelligence tools called Agentic Trading. This technology allows users to connect third-party AI assistants to their accounts to monitor markets and execute automated trades based on specific instructions. While Robinhood diversifies on-chain activity—currently dominated by Meme coins and stablecoins—with tokenized stocks, it also aims to maintain long-term growth potential by modernizing trading processes with AI.
