TRON Evolves: Institutional Giants Flock to New Sector Following Record $3 Billion Weekly Milestone

According to CryptoQuant data, TRON is evolving from a mere stablecoin transfer network into a comprehensive infrastructure layer featuring gasless transactions, cross-chain liquidity, and AI payments.

Long recognized in the cryptocurrency world as a “cheap stablecoin transfer hub,” TRON has recently drawn attention with its structural transformation. The next-generation solutions offered by the network have begun to appeal to a broad spectrum, ranging from institutional treasury management to autonomous AI agents beyond individual users. Data shared by CryptoQuant indicates that the network is no longer just a transfer route but has become a foundational layer for complex financial transactions.

Record Surge in Gasless Transaction Volume with GasFree

The requirement to hold TRX, one of the biggest barriers to usage on the TRON network, is being eliminated with the GasFree feature. Gasless transaction volume, which was near zero at the beginning of 2025, reached $2.9 billion weekly by the end of June 2026. In the first week of May, a historical record was broken with $3 billion. The weekly number of transactions rose to 196,000, while the number of unique senders increased to 30,000, demonstrating how actively the network is being utilized.

From an economic perspective, the GasFree system offers a sustainable model by charging a fixed fee per transaction. While total weekly fee revenue peaked at $273,000, the fee paid for an average transfer of $16.3 thousand remained at just $1.50. This represents a cost ratio of approximately 0.009%, which is nearly invisible to the user.

Institutional Interest and Cross-Chain Liquidity

The Rhino.fi integration has made USDT depth on TRON available across more than 30 networks in under 10 seconds. Especially following the Wirex collaboration, weekly USDT volume originating from TRON skyrocketed from $1 million to $48 million. During this process, the increase in average transfer size from $3,000 to $24,000 proves that the network is now preferred not only by individual users but also for institutional treasury and business settlement flows.

New Payment Infrastructure for AI Agents

TRON is also providing critical infrastructure for the future “agent economy.” Projects such as BAI, MERX, and Oobit allow AI agents to make payments to each other without human approval using x402-based systems. On the BAI side, on-chain identity arrangements and deposit activity have gained momentum since May. The daily number of deposits approached 30, and volume reached levels of $6,000, revealing real demand for this new space.
