Uniswap Makes Massive Move with BlackRock Partner: $5.5 Trillion Could Flow into Crypto

Uniswap has launched a new era in the decentralized finance world by announcing the Permissioned Pools feature, which will enable institutional investors to trade tokenized assets securely.

Uniswap (UNI), one of the world’s largest decentralized exchanges, has taken a massive step merging traditional finance with blockchain technology. The developer team, Uniswap Labs, introduced its infrastructure that allows regulated assets such as tokenized funds and stocks to be traded without compromising legal compliance. Thanks to this new feature, asset issuers can now integrate their own rules directly into the trading pools.

This move aims to accelerate the flow of institutional liquidity into the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem. Launch partners include Securitize, the issuer of BlackRock’s BUIDL fund, Superstate, and the Europe-based digital securities platform Dowgo. Built on Uniswap v4, this standard offers a technical revolution by verifying investor eligibility directly at the pool level instead of the application layer.

Compliance is Now at the Pool Level

Superstate CEO Robert Leshner stated that this innovation is the most important missing piece for tokenized securities. According to Leshner, compliance is now inside the pool, allowing regulated assets to benefit from automated market maker (AMM) liquidity without issuers losing control. In this system, for a wallet to trade or provide liquidity, it must first be approved by the asset issuer.

Uniswap’s move aligns with Citi’s forecast that the tokenized securities market will reach $5.5 trillion by 2030. The protocol has become the focus of institutional interest following the listing of BlackRock’s BUIDL fund in February and the integration with the Robinhood chain. These modern financial tools, easily accessible even via smartphones, are shaping the future of traditional markets on the blockchain.
