Upbit Places This Altcoin Under Investment Warning Due to Security Incident: Deposits Suspended!

Cryptocurrency exchange Upbit announced that it has placed an altcoin under an investment warning.

According to the statement published on Upbit’s official website, Mantra (MANTRA) has been placed under an investment warning for the MANTRA/KRW, MANTRA/BTC, and MANTRA/USDT trading pairs. The implementation will begin on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 17:00 KST and will last until the third week between September 14-18, 2026.

Regarding MANTRA, the exchange explained that a security incident occurred involving the asset, wallets managed by the issuer or operator, or the distributed ledgers where the asset is issued, transferred, or stored. Upbit stated that because the cause of the incident has not been identified or resolved, users have suffered or are likely to suffer losses, and it has placed MANTRA under an investment warning to protect investors.

Following the investment warning decision, Upbit will conduct a detailed review of the digital asset and decide whether to extend the warning, remove it, or completely terminate trading support. The exchange noted that the review period could be extended and trading support might be terminated if the conditions causing the investment warning are not fully resolved.

Deposit and withdrawal services for MANTRA were already suspended as of August 21, 2026, at 08:46 KST. It was stated that if services resume, only withdrawals will be enabled, and the status of deposit services will be announced separately based on the process following the investment warning. Following the publication of the announcement, MANTRA deposits will not be reflected in accounts, and all deposits will be subject to return.
