Weekly Fees on a Crypto Network Surged 17x: What’s Behind the Spike as Active Accounts Decline?

As daily fees on Robinhood Chain hit records, Pons stood at the center of this surge.

According to The Block’s Data & Insights newsletter, Robinhood Chain reached its highest level ever by generating approximately $6 million in fees in a single day on September 4. The token launch platform Pons is at the heart of the activity on the chain.

Total fees over the last seven days rose to approximately $25 million. This figure stood at $1.4 million in the previous comparison period. Thus, weekly fee revenue increased 17-fold in just one week. During the same period, the total volume of decentralized exchange (DEX) transactions reached $12.4 billion, more than doubling the previous week.

Fees per account jumped on Robinhood Chain

This increase was not driven by growth in the number of active accounts. The weekly average of daily active accounts remained below the previous week at 396,000. Despite this, the fee generated per account rose from $0.13 in mid-August to $15.90 in early September.

Pons generated approximately $6 million in daily fees on September 3. This figure surpassed the fees earned by Pump.fun and Hyperliquid on the same day. The PONS token also reached a valuation of over $970 million on September 5, rising more than 200 percent in one week.

Approximately 80 percent of Pons’ revenue is used for token buybacks. It is reported that more than 28 percent of the PONS supply has been burned so far. How fees on the chain will trend in the coming weeks will be closely linked to the number of new token pools and whether transaction volume can be maintained.
