Whale Activity in Two Altcoins Hits a Peak: FOMO Warning After Sharp Rallies!

As large transactions in Quant and The Graph reached peak levels, Santiment warned against buying out of fear of missing out after sharp price rallies.

In an analysis shared on September 29, Santiment said the Quant (QNT) network recorded 645 transactions worth at least $100,000 in a single day. This was the highest level seen for QNT in the chart shared. The 24 large transactions on the The Graph (GRT) side marked a 2026 peak.

The surge in large transfers coincided with a period of rapidly rising prices. In the rally examined in the analysis, QNT gained 299%, while GRT gained 47%.

For Quant, the development investors were watching was The Clearing House’s selection on September 24. The organization selected Quant for the interoperability and transaction layer of its new tokenized deposit network. The project aims to connect banks to existing RTP and CHIPS payment infrastructure.

Developments at The Graph are progressing more gradually. The Graph Foundation is shifting a larger share of Subgraph Studio traffic to The Graph Network, while protocol changes aim to increase real-world network usage and strengthen GRT’s economic model.

The analysis noted that interest from large players had increased, but the number of transactions alone does not indicate whether they are buys or sells. This metric shows that large-value movements also intensified as prices rose.

According to Santiment, the tendency to rush into trades to avoid missing out on a rally after strong gains—that is, FOMO—is becoming a clear risk. The firm viewed continued whale activity positively, while noting that rather than prices continuing to rise without interruption, a period of calm and sideways trading could provide a healthier foundation.
