Whale Who Profited on Nearly Every Trade Opens $61M Ethereum Long

A whale who closed nearly all of the 15 trades they completed on Hyperliquid in profit, earning about $30 million, has opened a new long position worth 24,000 ETH in Ethereum.

According to data shared on October 13 by on-chain analytics platform Lookonchain, the unidentified investor began trading on Hyperliquid four months ago after creating four new wallets. The total profit from the 15 trades completed with these wallets reached $29.75 million.

What stood out about the whale was not just the size of the gains, but the fact that they profited on nearly all of these trades.

New preference favors an Ethereum rally

The investor’s 24,000 ETH long position, opened on October 13, was reported to be worth approximately $60.7 million. With this trade, the whale took a position betting that the price of Ethereum would rise.

At the time of the post, the new position had reached $2.6 million in unrealized profit. The gain on this still-open trade was reported separately from the $29.75 million profit earned on the 15 completed trades.
