Critical Move from BlackRock and VanEck’s Tokenization Partner: Secures SEC License
Tokenization giant Securitize is securing the blockchain assets of giants like BlackRock and VanEck by expanding the legal framework it offers to institutional investors with its new investment adviser license from the SEC.
Securitize, a pioneer in the digitalization of assets, has added another milestone to its regulatory steps. The company’s subsidiary, Securitize Capital, has officially registered as an investment adviser with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This move stands out as a critical piece completing the broad range of licenses the company already holds, including broker-dealer, alternative trading system (ATS), transfer agent, and fund management services.
The warnings issued by SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce last week make the timing of this license even more significant. Peirce noted that cryptocurrency vaults and lending strategies could be subject to investment advisory regulations depending on their structure. Securitize, with this new license, aims to provide its institutional partners with an end-to-end legal infrastructure while minimizing regulatory risks.
Legal Assurance in Institutional Tokenization Move
The company serves as the issuer and infrastructure provider for large-scale projects such as BlackRock’s BUIDL fund and VanEck’s VBILL fund. In particular, permitted lending vaults where VanEck’s fund can be used as collateral are seen as the key to institutional adoption. According to current data, the total value of assets held in such curated vaults has reached the $8.6 billion level.
Securitize, which went public earlier this month under the ticker (SECZ), is also affected by market volatility. Although the company’s share price lost approximately 40 percent of its value throughout July, partnerships established with Wall Street giants keep long-term confidence fresh. The company continues to solidify the bridge between traditional finance and blockchain by continuing to design technical infrastructure for tokenized securities trading with the New York Stock Exchange.
