Bithumb’s Critical Decision for 4 Altcoins: Trading Support May End!

Bithumb announced that it has placed four crypto assets into the investment warning category as part of its virtual asset transaction warning designation policy. The exchange stated that the decisions were made based on reviews by the listing support evaluation committee.

According to Bithumb’s announcement dated August 21, 2026, Mantra (MANTRA), BounceBit (BB), Gala (GALA), and Sundog (SUNDOG) have been designated with investment warnings. The announcement cited reasons including the detection of unexplained or unresolved hacks and similar security incidents in virtual asset wallets or distributed ledgers where assets are issued, transferred, and stored. In addition, insufficient disclosures on significant matters and a lack of actual project progress were listed as grounds. The security incident justification was specifically mentioned for BounceBit (BB).

Deposits and withdrawals for Mantra (MANTRA) and BounceBit (BB) are currently suspended. The suspension of deposits for Gala (GALA) and Sundog (SUNDOG) is scheduled for Friday, August 21, 2026, at 5:00 PM.

The announcement regarding the extension, removal, or termination of the investment warning designation is expected between August 31 and September 4 for Sundog (SUNDOG), and between September 14 and 18 for Mantra (MANTRA), Gala (GALA), and BounceBit (BB). Bithumb stated that the schedule may change due to internal circumstances and that the designation may be lifted if the reasons are resolved within the warning period.

The exchange also warned that due to network congestion and confirmation delays, the crediting of assets sent even before the suspension of deposits may be limited. It was stated that transfers occurring during the period when deposits are suspended cannot be processed; these will be evaluated sequentially in the event of the termination of trading support or the removal of the designation.
