Selling Bitcoin and Withdrawing TRY Are Separate Operations

To convert Bitcoin into Turkish Lira, you can sell it on a platform that supports BTC/TRY trading pairs. Once the sale is complete, a TRY balance is created in your platform account. Sending this balance to your bank account requires a separate withdrawal request. If you encounter the issue ‘I sold Bitcoin but it doesn’t appear in my bank account,’ you should first check which step has been completed.

If your Bitcoin is already on an exchange, you can go directly to the sell screen. If it is in your personal wallet, you must first transfer it to a supported deposit address. The duration and cost of these two starting points differ. The following steps explain the logic of the process without recommending a specific platform; screen names may vary by service.

1. Check Selling and Withdrawal Conditions in Advance

Locate the platform’s BTC/TRY spot market, trading fees, minimum order amounts, and TRY withdrawal methods. Your account’s verification level might allow selling while restricting withdrawals. Temporary withdrawal holds may also be applied after security changes. Reviewing this information before selling reduces surprises at the final stage.

There may be requirements such as the receiving bank account being in your own name. Withdrawal fees, daily limits, and processing times vary by platform and bank. Instead of relying on fixed amounts from an old help article, use the app’s current withdrawal screen as your reference. You should never need to provide your password or verification code to any support staff.

2. Get a Deposit Address if Bitcoin is in a Personal Wallet

In the crypto deposit section of the platform, select BTC and the Bitcoin network. Copy the address from this screen. Do not use a similar address sent via message or one that appears in your transaction history. The supported network and address format must be compatible with the sending wallet.

If there are multiple network options, a lower fee should not be the only decision criterion. Wrapped Bitcoin on another network is not the same as BTC on the Bitcoin mainnet. Verify which network your asset is on and that the platform supports that specific network. Selecting the wrong network may prevent the transfer from automatically reaching your account.

A small test transfer can be useful for first-time use. However, do not send less than the minimum deposit amount; the platform may not credit this amount to your account. After a successful trial, check the address again when sending the remaining balance. A successful small transfer does not guarantee that a subsequent copy-paste operation will be error-free.

3. Wait for Network Confirmation and Available Balance

You can track the transfer on a blockchain explorer using the transaction ID (TXID) provided by your wallet. A transaction being included in a block is the first confirmation. Once the number of confirmations required by the platform is reached and their internal checks are complete, the BTC moves to your available balance. Seeing one confirmation does not necessarily mean the exchange will unlock the balance immediately.

Bitcoin blocks are generated approximately every ten minutes on average, but the exact completion time of a transfer is not fixed. Fees and network congestion affect the time it takes to be included in the first block. Sending the same amount again while a transaction is pending is not a solution; the first transfer may still complete later. First, determine the status of the existing transaction.

4. Open the BTC/TRY Spot Sell Screen

When you sell BTC in a BTC/TRY pair, you receive TRY (Turkish Lira) in return. If you sell in a BTC/USDT pair, you will receive a USDT balance instead of TRY. An additional step may be required later to convert this to TRY. Choosing the correct trading pair from the start can prevent an unnecessary second commission.

Selling in the spot market is not the same as opening a short position in the futures market. If you want to sell the Bitcoin you own, you do not need to select leverage or borrowing options. If you see fields for collateral, liquidation, and position size on the screen, you may be in the section for a different product.

5. Select a Market or Limit Order

Market orders match with existing buy bids. You enter the amount of BTC you want to sell; the entire order may not execute at a single price. If there are not enough buyers in the order book, the price may drop to lower levels. The last traded price shown on the screen is not a guarantee that you will sell all your Bitcoin at that exact price.

With a limit order, you determine the lowest selling price you are willing to accept. For example, while the market is around 3,000,000 TRY, you can place a limit sell order at 3,050,000 TRY. If enough buyers do not reach that level, the order remains pending. BTC reserved for a pending order may appear deducted from your available balance, but it has not been sold yet.

Partial execution is also possible. If only 0.008 BTC of a 0.02 BTC order has been sold, the remaining portion may stay as an open order. Open orders and transaction history are separate screens. Canceling an order does not reverse the portion already executed; it only stops the part that hasn’t happened yet.

Net TRY Calculation After Commissions

Hypothetically, assume you sold the full 0.01 BTC at an average price of 3,000,000 TRY and a 0.20% commission was deducted from the TRY amount. The gross amount would be 30,000 TRY, the commission 60 TRY, and the net balance after the sale would be 29,940 TRY. These figures do not represent current prices or any specific platform’s fee schedule.

If an additional 5 TRY fee is assumed for the bank withdrawal, 29,935 TRY will reach your account. The fee for sending from your wallet to the exchange may have already reduced your BTC amount; include that cost in the total process as well. Using the actual average price realized instead of the estimate in the sell preview allows you to make an accurate net calculation.

6. Withdraw TRY to Your Bank Account

After the sale, check your TRY balance and open the withdrawal section. Verify the recipient account, amount, fee, and the net amount to be sent. There may be a processing delay between the completion of the withdrawal request and the bank showing the balance. Saving the request number is helpful if support is needed.

If a delay occurs, check the platform’s withdrawal history and your bank’s account activity. Private messages such as ‘Pay another account to release the funds’ are not part of the normal withdrawal process. If help is needed, use the verified support channel within the app. Do not open a new transfer or a new sale without clarifying what stage the transaction is in.

Why Can’t Funds Be Withdrawn After the Sell Order is Executed?

First, check whether you executed the entire sale or only a portion of it. Balance reserved for an open order can reduce the available amount. Additionally, if the sale was made in a BTC/USDT pair, the asset you obtained is USDT, not TRY; a supported conversion process may be required to withdraw TRY to a bank. The platform’s bank withdrawal limits, account verification, or temporary security holds may also apply. The record of the sale in the transaction history and the status in the withdrawal section should be examined separately. The total portfolio value shown in TRY on the screen does not mean the entire balance is withdrawable TRY.
