Visa’s annualized settlement volume using stablecoins has surpassed $25 billion, reaching 10 times its level a year ago.
According to Wu Blockchain, Visa CEO Ryan McInerney shared the scale of the company’s stablecoin activity during its latest financial results call. The reported growth covers settlement activity, in which the payment network uses stablecoins to complete the transfer of funds for transactions.
Annualized volume surpasses $25 billion
The figure of more than $25 billion cited by McInerney represents the current transaction pace projected over a year. This measure, which has increased 10-fold compared with the previous year, points to growing use of stablecoins in Visa’s payment infrastructure.
The company’s blockchain support also spans five global regions and 10 networks. The announcement therefore highlights both the volume of stablecoin settlements and the geographic and technical scope of Visa’s services in this area.
