Strategy Increases Bitcoin Reserve to 845,000 BTC with $370 Million Purchase
Strategy increased its total reserve to 845,050 BTC by purchasing an additional 4,603 Bitcoin during the August 24-30, 2026 period; the $369.7 million purchase was funded by proceeds from MSTR share sales.
Strategy’s new Bitcoin purchase further expanded the company’s cryptocurrency treasury in a single week. According to information shared by Wu Blockchain, the company paid an average of $80,318 per Bitcoin during the period in question, with the total purchase price amounting to $369.7 million.
With this purchase, the total amount of Bitcoin held by Strategy reached 845,050 BTC. While the total expenditure the company has made for this reserve stands at $63.73 billion, the average cost was announced as $75,412 per Bitcoin.

Strategy’s Bitcoin purchase was funded by share sales
Strategy funded its weekly Bitcoin purchase with $602.8 million in net proceeds from the sale of MSTR shares. The method used by the company is known as an ATM (At-The-Market) program, where share sales can be conducted in the market as needed. Thus, the new Bitcoin purchase was covered directly by resources provided from share sales.
The company also conducted a $151.8 million STRC preferred stock buyback during the same week. In the financial statement released by Strategy, the USD Reserve balance was listed at $5.10 billion, and the USD Cash balance was $1.61 billion.
With the new purchase, Strategy’s Bitcoin reserve maintained its remarkable scale among institutional companies. The company’s total reserve does not consist solely of the newly purchased 4,603 BTC; this amount represents the net purchase added to existing Bitcoin holdings as of August 30.
