When Will Strategy Stop Buying Bitcoin? Michael Saylor Explains

Strategy Chairman Michael Saylor said there is no predetermined target for how much Bitcoin the company will accumulate and that it will continue buying as long as it can raise capital.

According to Wu Blockchain, Saylor discussed Strategy’s Bitcoin strategy in an interview with Binance on September 28. The company’s buying capacity is determined by the financing it obtains through equity and credit products.

Saylor said Strategy will remain a net buyer of Bitcoin. Rather than naming a specific BTC amount at which purchases would end, he described an approach in which accumulation continues as long as the company can raise capital.

How will buying continue as Bitcoin rises?

According to Saylor, a rising Bitcoin price will make accumulating more BTC exponentially more difficult. However, he argues that the company’s share price and the securities it issues will also grow alongside Bitcoin.

In this context, he said BTC, STRC, and MSTR form a complementary balance. In the model Saylor described, rising Bitcoin prices make accumulation more difficult, while growth in the company’s financing instruments will support purchases.

The remarks show that Strategy has set no fixed endpoint for its Bitcoin holdings and ties its buying policy to its ability to raise capital.
