Multicoin Capital Reveals the Altcoin Set to Become a Future Financial Giant: Target $319
Investment giant Multicoin Capital forecasts a massive surge for Hyperliquid’s native token, HYPE, predicting it will reach $319 by 2028.
Multicoin Capital, one of the leading investment firms in the cryptocurrency market, reaffirmed its confidence in the Hyperliquid (HYPE) project in its latest report. The firm argues that the market is making a mistake by viewing this platform solely as a fast-growing futures exchange, asserting that its true potential is much higher. Having aggressively purchased HYPE since February, Multicoin revealed that the asset has become one of the largest positions in its funds.
Recently, Hyperliquid has been evolving beyond just a derivatives exchange into an “exchange where everything can be traded” model. While the platform’s user base grew from 300,000 to 923,000 during 2025, the open interest tripled, rising from $2 billion to $6 billion. Generating $873 million in annual revenue and reaching a trading volume of $2.9 trillion, the platform stands out as one of the world’s fastest-growing financial applications.
Massive Growth Expectations for HYPE Token
Multicoin analysts estimate that the HYPE price could rise from its current $63 levels to $319 by 2028. This forecast is based on a scenario where the platform’s annual earnings reach $8 billion, rivaling traditional finance giants. In particular, the intense interest in innovative products like SpaceX share-based futures is at the heart of this growth strategy.
Competition with Traditional Finance Giants
Hyperion DeFi CEO Hyunsu Jung shares a similar view, stating that Hyperliquid’s market value should be compared to giants like Robinhood or CME Group. As the platform’s fully diluted valuation approaches the $75 billion mark, catalysts such as HyperEVM and new update packages are expected to drive the price even higher. Multicoin is now expecting a repeat of the successful foresight it demonstrated with Binance (BNB) and Solana (SOL) projects for HYPE.
